Congratulations to Kwesi Yaro

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Kwesi Yaro, a PhD graduate of EDCP, has accepted a tenure track appointment as Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education in the Department of Secondary Education at the University of Alberta. Dr. Yaro recently successfully completed his PhD in EDCP under the supervision of Professor Ann Anderson with Professors Cynthia Nicol, Jim Anderson and Samson Nashon serving as supervisory committee members. Dr. Kerry Renwick Receives a 2021 USI Interdisciplinary Education Grant

Dear Colleagues, Dr. Kerry Renwick recently joined the UBC Sustainability Initiative (USI) Sustainability Fellowship Program and received a USI Interdisciplinary Education two-year grant. She will work with Dr. Silvia Bartolic, Department of Sociology, Faculty of Arts, on a curriculum protect to create a new certificate program on Sustainability and Family. The UBC Sustainability Initiative 2021 fellows’ cohort includes 14 faculty members who are leading seven interdisciplinary sustainability curriculum projects. Congratulations to Dr Anna Kindler’s son, Antoni

Dear Colleagues, It is a delight sharing the excellent news of Dr Anna Kindler’s son, Antoni, for being selected to represent Canada at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Games. The Olympic Field Hockey Team has now been announced (http://www.fieldhockey.ca/2021/06/28/field-hockey-canada-announces-mens-olympic-roster/) and Antoni will be the Goalkeeper for Canada. We will join Anna in cheering for Antoni even though his family cannot travel to Tokyo because of the COVID-related travel restrictions in Japan that do not allow for foreign visitors/spectators during the Games.
