INVITATION
WHEN: The month of October
WHERE: Display cabinets, outside Scarfe 1106
Some years ago, a Technology Education TC told me that another non-Tech Ed TC, came to them with their broken laptop asking if they could fix it, “because…like…you’re…Tech Ed”. Something like this happens each year, revealing that some other TCs may not be as familiar as they might be with what happens in a Tech Ed class.
To that end, last year the Tech Ed cohort created a display in the cabinet outside our classroom with some projects they made, by way of providing those passing by with a visual representation of some of the things that happen in Shop Class.
This month, we invite Teacher Candidates, and others involved in the BEd, to swing by and check out the display by this year’s cohort. We have class on Mon/Wed 09:00-10:30, so if you swing by before class, someone will likely be on hand if you’d like to talk through what you are looking at.
You can see some information about the BC ADST Curriculum in the display and the cue cards next to the artifacts share some additional information and context. So, swing by when you have 10 minutes to spare and see some of the cool things that are happening in Shop Class!
Further information about the BC ADST Curriculum, and pictures of last year’s display can be found here, or by scanning the QR code by the display, or ask any Tech Ed TC about this and they would be more than happy to share more about their context.
