Penney Clark awarded the Distinguished Contribution Prize from the Canadian History of Education Association

Penney Clark (EDCP Professor Emerita) was recently awarded the Distinguished Contribution Prize from the Canadian History of Education Association (CHEA/ACHÉ) at its biennial conference, October 15-17, 2026.

The Canadian History of Education Association (CHEA/ACHÉ) is a bilingual, interdisciplinary academic organization founded in Calgary in 1980. It unites scholars, teachers, and researchers to study the history of formal and informal education in Canada and abroad.

The purpose of the Distinguished Contribution Prize is to acknowledge both scholarly contributions to the field of history of education and service contributions to the organization over the years. Penney Clark has published widely in the field of history of education, particularly in the area of educational publishing. She was President of the organization for two years and co-editor (with Mona Gleason) of its journal, Historical Studies in Education, for five years.
