Message sent on behalf of Dr. Elly Yazdanpanah, Post-Doctoral Fellow
I am thrilled to invite you to the opening of “Mapping Stories Through Textile Cartographies,” an exhibition that intertwines cultural origins and reflections through the universal language of textile art. Presented by the Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy in collaboration with the School of Public Policy and Global Affairs, this collection features over 200 textile squares from 17 countries, including Canada, Australia, Brazil, China, Egypt, and more. It transforms textiles into living maps of heritage, identity, and storytelling.
Opening Reception Details:
- Date: April 1, Tuesday
- Time: 5:30–7:00 p.m.
- Location: Lobby Gallery, Liu Institute for Global Issues
Join us for an evening of:
- Live musical performance
- Delicious refreshments
- Engaging in conversations with scholars and fellow art enthusiasts
The exhibition continues until April 28, but the opening reception offers a special opportunity to experience these works at their most vibrant. Each textile represents a dialogue between traditions and contemporary creativity, highlighting the transformative power of cultural collaboration.
We look forward to celebrating this journey of threads, stories, and connections with you. Your presence will make this gathering even more meaningful.
