On Monday, November 24th, Darren Ng, former BEd student and currently an award winning science teacher from New Westminster Secondary School, presented an inspirational workshop for our teacher candidates.
The hands-on workshop “You can be the one: 5 encouragements for your long practicum” was very special and we already received positive feedback from teacher candidates.
Darren Ng’s passion for science and teaching has received recognition from the Prime Minister’s Awards (PMA) office in 2024 when he was bestowed with a Certificate of Achievement in Teaching Excellence in STEM. Darren was also the recipient of the 2021 Gordon Gore Prize for Excellence in Science Teaching awarded by the British Columbia Association of Physics Teachers (BCAPT).
