Each square presents either some letters of the alphabet or numbers. Michael Parsons taught the class while Sandrine is on maternity leave. The students spent a half an hour talking about and working on the quilt for the last four sessions , and many hours outside of class. The reverse side of the quilt has written on it, in both English and Mandarin Chinese, Sandrine’s expression of joy and pride on the morning after the birth.
