Graduate Student Successes

Colleagues,

Recently, a number of graduate students in EDCP have achieved some landmark successes in their studies.

Peter Train (supervisor: Tony Clarke) advanced to candidacy in his Ph.D. Program;
Heidi May, a recent graduate (co-supervisors: Rita Irwin and Donal O’Donoghue), received the inaugural Ph.D. Dissertation award from the Canadian Society for Education through Art. The award will be presented to her during the annual awards ceremony on Saturday, October 25, 2014 in Halifax, Nova Scotia;
Kevin Sandher (supervisor: Joy Butler) successfully defended his M.A. Thesis in Physical Education, “Students’ social experiences through inventing games”; and
Lindsay Gibson (supervisor: Peter Seixas) completed his Ph.D. Studies with a successful defence of his dissertation, “Understanding ethical judgments in secondary school history classes.”

Hearty congratulations to them all.

Best, Peter
