Exhibition | Longing For What Might Be

Welcome to a group exhibition, Longing For What Might Be, by EDCP Graduate students: Elmira Sarreshtehdari, Marzieh Mosavarzadeh,Yasaman Moussavi and Sholeh Mahlouji (EDCP MEd graduate) at the Hatch Gallery, UBC.

Longing For What Might Be is a group exhibition based on collaborative creation about how Women, Life, and Freedom slogan could be a possible pathway for liberation of people under repression through visual representation of their embodied and overwhelming emotions tangled with everyday life living in Canada while being away from home.

Art has become a powerful, if not the main language for many protestors of injustices, to covertly and peacefully voice their call for freedom as a form of activism. This group exhibition influenced by and aligned with these creative performances is intended to attract attention in our academic environment for further awareness and conversation regarding diversity, inclusivity, gender equality, and human rights.
