EDCP is pleased to announce a contribution of $5,000 towards the Transportation Initiative for the Dadaab project. The Faculty of Education is aiming to raise at least $30,000 to cover the costs of transportation and lunches for the coming school year for students enrolled in our program. Dadaab Secondary Teacher Education is an important educational and humanitarian endeavor underway in the Dadaab Refugee Camps in northeastern Kenya.
EDCP faculty members involved in the Dadaab project include: Dr. Samson Nashon, Dr. Karen Meyer, Dr. Cynthia Nicol, Dr. Rita Irwin,. Mr. Bruce Gurney, Mr. Eric Hanson, and Ms. Joanne Melville.
Other Faculty of Education members involved in the project include: Dr. George Belliveau (LLED), Dr. Kedrick James (LLED), Dr. Elizabeth Jordan (ECPS), Mr. Graham Lea (LLED), Mr. Hezron Onditi (EPSE), Dr. Bathsheba Opini (EDST), Dr. Theresa Rogers (LLED), and Dr. Jennifer Vadeboncoeur (ECPS).
Contributions from the above members include developing online courses for the program with hopes of participating in classroom-based teaching in the future.
