Congratulations to Wayne Ross

I am very pleased to bring to your attention a recent opinion piece by Wayne Ross, “Privatization through the back door” that appeared in the Vancouver Sun on Saturday June 21, 2014. Wayne provides a historical commentary commenting on how, since the BC Liberals ascended to power, we have been subjected to a steady stream of ideologically driven public policy decisions that shift responsibility for providing and financing public services from the public to the private domain. Here is the link: http://www.vancouversun.com/opinion/letters/Teachers+BCTF+Christy+Clark+Liberals+schools+education/9960264/story.html

This is a superb example of how we academics should mobilize our knowledge to engage with community issues. Congratulations, Wayne!

Best, Peter
