Congratulations and Welcome to Dr. Jennifer Jing Zhao

Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to Dr. Jennifer Jing Zhao, who has joined our Department as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Media & Technology Studies Education under the Supervision of Drs. Stephen Petrina and Hsiao-Cheng (Sandrine) Han. Dr. Zhao’s Postdoctoral appointment is funded by Mitacs Accelerate program. She completed her PhD studies in the Department in 2019. Dr. Zhao’s postdoctoral work titled “Case Study Scenarios and Videos for Intercultural Competence Acquisition” builds on her dissertation research: “Design of a 3D Virtual Learning Environment for Acquisition of Cultural Competence in Nurse Education: Experiences of Nursing and Other Health Care Students, Instructors, and Instructional Designers.” The objective of Dr. Zhao’s Mitacs supported project is to design, use and analyze case study scenarios for training in intercultural competence using Bennett’s (1986, 1993, 2004) “Developmental Model of Intercultural Sensitivity” (DMIS).

Best, Samson.

Dr. Samson Nashon, EdD
Department Head & Professor of Science Education
