Abstract:

This seminar is designed to be an extended dialogue and will centre around three essential questions: What is educational justice? How is it achieved? Why is it still important? Drawing on her expertise, Dr. Sensoy will lead a discussion on how inequities are reproduced in social institutions such as schools, media, and policing, and we will identify constructive interventions to interrupt them. Participants will engage in a dialogue that fosters critical thinking about knowledge, pedagogical approaches, and political activism.

Short Bio:

Dr. Sensoy’s primary research focuses on social justice education, revealing how social inequities are embedded in society and exploring strategies for change. Her interdisciplinary scholarship includes multicultural education, critical pedagogy, cultural studies, and feminist postcolonial theory.
