Home Economics | Family Studies | Human Ecology | Family & Consumer Science Education: Issues & Directions
HYBRID SYMPOSIUM | FEBRUARY 28 – MARCH 2, 2025 | ONTARIO
The Canadian Symposium on Home Economics Education has been held biennially since 1991 in various locations across Canada. It provides a forum for sharing information and research, and action planning to strengthen home economics/family studies/human ecology/family and consumer science education in the future.
Educators/researchers/academics gather to:
- address current social, political, cultural, economic issues that have implications for Home Economics/Family Studies/Human Ecology/Family and Consumer Science programs.
- present current research in Home Economics and related fields (education, family sociology, food studies, nutrition, housing, environment, ecology, curriculum studies)
- discuss the current status and new developments in Home Economics/Family Studies/Human Ecology at both the public school and postsecondary levels
- share innovative curriculum projects designed to enhance Home Economics/Family Studies/Human Ecology/Family and Consumer Science programs.
