We are excited to host the 48th UBC Physics Olympics on Saturday, February 28th, 2026
The Physics Olympics is a high school physics competition held annually at UBC in Vancouver. This multi-event competition is an energetic, intellectual and hands-on building and testing challenge for secondary students, showcasing creative physics and engineering talents from across the province.
Presenting two pre-builds, two labs, a Fermi questions event and Quizzics!, a physics game-show-style event, there are challenges for every physics skill-set. For students and their teachers & coaches, this is the greatest amount of competitive physics fun and games in one event in the country! We hope you will be interested in participating and we have many staff and faculty supports to help answer your questions and help you to prepare your teams.
This year we are expecting 82 teams from all across BC. The competition, is organized by the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy at UBC.
