On a stormy Saturday, October 15, EDCP faculty members and students organized Sixth Family Math and Science Day. This event has become a great Faculty of Education tradition! Despite the weather the event was attended by more than 360 guests, including UBC President, Dr. Ono and his family. More than 80 volunteers (TCs, graduate students, and faculty) took part in the event. The event was supported by EDCP, TEO, PIMS and the Dean’s Office. We would like to express our thanks to everybody who helped us to make it happen. It was a truly team effort. The following EDCP faculty members and staff dedicated hours and days in order to make it all happen and were instrumental during the day: Michelle Tan, Doug Adler, Sandra Scott, Cynthia Nicol (who is on sabbatical now and yet she came to help), Natasa Sirotic, Marina Milner-Bolotin, and of course Fred Brown. Our Head, Samson Nashon, came to support us during the event despite his busy schedule. Kirsty helped us a lot to prepare for the event.
Many thanks to our amazing grad students and to everybody who was there and who helped us before or during the event. Your support matters a lot.
