Colleagues,
On Saturday, March 7, 2015, Marina Milner-Bolotin helped host and organize the 37th UBC Physics Olympics. More than 400 students and teachers participated in the event with 56 teams from all over BC. This is the biggest physics outreach event in Canada where the students work in teams on hands-on activities.
Once again it was a collaborative effort between the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy. It was a very successful event and our hope is that it will bring more excellent science teachers into our M.Ed., M.A. and Ph.D. programs. There is a report on the event at: http://www.bcapt.ca/.
