UBC Faculty of Education to Become Home to Premier History of Education Journal!

We are very pleased to announce that Historical Studies in Education/Revue d’histoire de l’éducation (HSE/RHE), Canada’s history of education journal, is coming to UBC’s Faculty of Education. The journal will be shared between EDCP and EDST, with Penney Clark (EDCP) and Mona Gleason (EDST) as new co-editors. Jason Ellis (EDST) will continue as book review editor (English language books).

HSE/RHE is a peer-reviewed, bilingual, and open access journal featuring articles on every aspect of education, from pre-school to university education, on informal as well as formal education, and on historical methods and historiography. Established in 1989, the journal has a national and international reputation as one of the leading journals in the field and is indexed in major scholarly databases. The journal regularly publishes articles by Canadian and international authors, senior and emerging scholars, as well as teachers, graduate students, historical researchers, archivists, and museum curators.

The journal will be moved from York University to UBC during the summer and fall of 2015.

EDCP is very excited about Historical Studies in Education/Revue d’histoire de l’éducation (HSE/RHE) coming to UBC and about collaborating with our colleagues in EDST on this important new venture.
