Abstract
This presentation will share the story of a school district’s journey of transformation in teaching and learning and how, in a few short years, a culture of collaborative inquiry, innovation, and continuous improvement has become the norm. The Delta School District has been on this journey since the creation of a collaboratively developed, shared vision, in 2011. Research and collaborative inquiry during this time have played an integral role in influencing professional learning in the district, impacting teaching and leadership practices, and student learning.
Although the context of every school district is unique, and what works in one setting may not necessarily be successful in a different situation, there appear to be key elements and characteristics that contribute to a culture of learning and innovation in educational systems.
