Dr. Michelle Y. S. Tan (PhD, 2011) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy at UBC. Her research interests include curriculum innovation and reform, collaborative teacher inquiry and teacher professional development as they pertain to science education and outdoor learning. She is also passionate about exploring ways in which the outdoors may be used for interdisciplinary learning. Her personal interests include perfecting the art of brewing a pot of good tea, traveling, botanical drawings, and playing the piano and electric organ.
