Congratulations to Professor Rita Irwin who was recognized by the Canadian Society for Education through Art (CSEA) with a unique Lifetime Achievement Award at the CSEA Awards Ceremony on October 15, 2022. It was awarded to her in recognition of the extraordinary scope and impact of her many contributions to the field of Art Education.
While the award came with a financial honoraria, Professor Irwin deferred the funds and, in consultation with CSEA, the funds and future funds from her will go toward recognizing K-12 art educators showcasing exemplary classroom art practices.
This is a tremendous honour for Professor Irwin and also for our Department.
