It gives me tremendous pleasure to share with you the incredible news that Dr. Peter Gouzouasis will be receiving the 2020 AERA Outstanding Achievement in Arts and Learning Award from the AERA Arts and Learning SIG.
The jurors were greatly impressed with Peter’s work and shared the following feedback:
“Peter Gouzouasis has made a significant contribution to the field of music education as evidenced by 50+ peer reviewed publications, multiple invitations to be the key note speaker at conferences, and various/numerous creative projects.”
“Dr. Gouzouasis’ research work in music education is only surpassed by the breadth and depth of his scholarship.” As one nominator related, “he is considered a top 2% researcher in the field.” She noted, “Two Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada research grants across the arts led to ground breaking action research work… It is clear that his body of work over his career exemplifies the power of arts-based scholarship and the impacts on teaching and learning.”
This prestigious award will be presented to Dr. Gouzouasis at the 2020 AERA in San Francisco on April 18th.
