Dr. Sandrine Han, Assistant Professor
“The visual culture of the virtual world is not an authentically reconstructed real world, but is a space containing worldwide mixed and ideal cultures from designers’ imaginations. There is nothing made by nature in a virtual world, and everything is made by its own residents. No matter what we see in virtual worlds, there IS a reason to be there.”
Dr. Han’s research focuses on the visual culture and cultural studies, and on the integration of art education and educational technology specifically in virtual worlds. She also looks at the ways in which media have influenced cultures. Her scholarship has contributed to and has had a major impact in everyday life.
