Reigniting an old tradition in the UBC Faculty of Education, we present to you an opportunity for graduate students, faculty and staff from across the whole Faculty to engage in collaborative, generative dialogue with one another. The Explorations & Education Conference is the collaborative effort of graduate student representatives from the Graduate Student Council for the Faculty of Education, the Department of Educational Studies and the Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy. We have come together specifically to create a safe space for the exchange of academic ideas and to create opportunities particularly for graduate students (at all levels of study) to present their ideas and research.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Submission Deadline: Monday, March 7, 2011

Submission Details: Presenters are asked to submit a maximum 250-word abstract detailing the content and anticipated format of the session. Presenters can choose from the following session formats or may propose a new, creative format with rationale: 1) standard paper presentation, 2) symposium or panel session, 3) round table presentation, or 4) poster session. Please complete the following submission form in order to submit your proposal.  Individual paper or round table presenters can anticipate approximately 15-20 minutes for presentation. 

We welcome proposals from people at all stages of their education; we strongly encourage presentations on works in progress as well as creative, artistic forms of presentation. While this conference is intended for all members of the Faculty of Education, we also welcome collaborative presentations that may include members from other Faculties or Departments.
