35th UBC Physics Olympics

Colleagues,

Last Saturday, Marina Milner-Bolotin and Samson Nashon helped host and organize the 35th UBC Physics Olympics. More than 400 students and teachers participated in the event with 56 teams from all over BC. This was one of the highest numbers of teams over the years. Once again it was a collaborative effort between the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy. It was a very successful event and our hope is that it will bring more excellent science teachers into our M.Ed., M.A. and Ph.D. programs. There is a report on the event at: www.bcapt.ca.

Please join me in congratulating Marina and Samson on this most important scholarly service.

Best, Peter
